Adrian hires Joel Przygodski as new Head Football Coach
ADRIAN, Mich. — A veteran coach and teacher with an extensive coaching resume has been named as the Adrian High School head football coach.
Joel Przygodski, currently a teacher at Springbrook Middle School and a football coach at Saline High School, has been chosen from a field of 13 candidates and six highly qualified candidates that were interviewed. Przygodski will be recommended to the Board of Education at the February 14th meeting.
“Joel has been successful at all his previous coaching stops. Coach Przygodski will bring a wealth of coaching experience including multiple years as a Head Coach. Joel’s past 11 years of experience as an APS teacher and coach will give him an advantage with our student athletes,” said Chad O’Brien, Adrian High School Athletic Director. “We are beyond excited to bring Joel back to Adrian and restore the pride and tradition of our program.”
Przygodski is the current Quarterbacks Coach for Saline High School. He has previous experience at Adrian High School as the Offensive Coordinator of the Varsity Football Team. During his tenure at Adrian the Maples won an SEC white championship and a District title. During his time at Saline Coach P helped the Hornets achieve 4 SEC Red titles, 2 District championships and a Regional Championship. Besides his time at Adrian and Saline, Joel also has stops at Ann Arbor Huron, Milford, Ann Arbor Pioneer, & Milan. Joel has also has experience as an Assistant Boys Track coach at Ann Arbor Huron High School.
“During this process we interviewed multiple qualified candidates and Joel’s ability to build relationships with our student athletes & his experience were above the others. I firmly believe that he will connect with our students and staff and exemplify Maple Pride in his actions,” said High School Principal Mike Perez.

Przygodski holds a bachelor's degree for Eastern Michigan University. Following Board approval, he will officially start on February 15, 2022, but already has plans to re-connect with the student athletes well before that date.
