Game Preview and Prospects The D Zone will be seeing at Traverse City Central and Jenison (Story)
Traverse City Central entered the season with high expectations and has shown pieces of how good they can be. They rebounded nicely in week 9 following a loss to D4 program, Escanaba in week 8. They'll now head into the post-season knowing the #3 ranked team in D2, Mona Shores is likely up next if they can defeat a tough Jenison team. Jenison comes into the game with a 6-3 record under first year head coach, Rob Zeitman who coached at Kent State last year. Jenison lost by 7 to Mona Shores and also to #2 ranked Muskegon.
This should be a great game and the winner will have some momentum heading into likely Mona Shores next week.
Below are the prospects we're aware of entering the game. We look forward to discovering more talent.
Traverse City Central:
2019 DE Jack Sherwin Sherwin is the only ranked player by The D Zone in this game at #62 in the class of 2019. The Western Michigan commit is a such an active presence on the line that Jenison will double-team him a lot and run plays away from him. He's that type of impact player.
2019 QB/S Tobin Schwannecke is a 6'3 195 lbs QB/S. Schwannecke is most effective when running the ball as he was tough to bring down and moves well. Schwannecke we've seen has began to play defense for Central as that's where we would project him to get his most college interest from.
2020 OLB Mitch Stachnik is a 6'2 175 lbs OLB who can move well and pursues the ball very well. The last time we seen him play, they played a wing-t offense so we look forward to seeing him vs. a more complex offense this week vs. Jenison.
2021 DE/P Tylor McCoon Defensively McCoon has caught our eye ahead of this week on film and the 6'4 190 lbs DE is quick off the line and gets to the ball in a hurry. As a Punter McCoon has a very strong leg. The sophomore is a must watch player for the future.
2020 Slot Trey Searles is the Trojans go-to offensive threat as he showed crisp routes through the season and has some nice speed. Searles is 5'11 155 lbs.
2019 WR/CB Moswen Kirksey is a 6'1 180 lbs ATH who is key for the Trojans as he's one of their longer and more athletic threats on the offensive side of the ball and has good ball skills which translate as well to defense.
2019 OC/DT Hunter Wittke is a 6'3 305 lbs interior lineman for the Trojans who can anchor the offensive line. Wittke holds an offer from Culver-Stockton.
Jenison:
2019 WR/S/OLB Enrique Gonzalez is the Wildcats big play threat on both sides of the ball as the 6'4 190 lbs ATH is versatile and has good length.
2019 QB Kyle Nott is a 3-sport athlete and the 5'9 175 lbs QB is a very dangerous dual-threat QB for Jenison. Nott needs around just 60 yards to exceed 5,000 career total offensive yards. Nott is committed to play baseball at Central Michigan.
2019 RB/OLB Jarel Jackson is a 6' 180 lbs versatile weapon for Jenison who should exceed 1,000+ yards of total offense offense by halftime.
2019 OC/DE Aaron Haney is a 6'2 240 lbs prospect who will have his hands full vs. a much bigger TCC offensive and defensive line, but is the standout on Jenison's lines.
2019 RB/S Ray Russo who is 5'9 190 lbs leads the team in tackles.
